Notes: After last night’s game, skipper Eric Wedge told the mightily struggling Ichiro he’d have tonight’s game off. This broke his streak of playing in 255 consecutive games, dating back to August 31, 2009… Chone Figgins, his replacement in the leadoff spot, went 2-for-4 with a double; rookie Carlos Peguero, his replacement in right, went 2-for-3 with a triple and home run… Ichiro seemed to take it in stride, high-fiving his teammates during the game and speaking with the press afterwards without complaint (here’s Geoff Baker’s interview summary)… He’ll be back in the lineup tomorrow.
Next: Game 65 at Detroit, 4:05 Saturday.
